IMG_6574 Website SizeNews Flash! If you would like to see Peninsula Heritage School in action, watch Cox Cable Channel 3 this evening and tomorrow at 8:00 pm for a forty-minute narrated showing of our school’s recent Field Day. In viewing this program, you will see our beautiful children engaged is all types of athletic events while simultaneously practicing the Character Qualities that we attempt to instill and adhere to on a daily basis at PHS. IMG_6547 Website SizeCompetition is a difficult entity, and having children compete in a fair manner during a peanut walk or other athletic activities is quite a feat – sometimes impossible – but as you will see from the video, we did it! This day is not only about sports and gamesmanship, but about fair play and how to be a good person when you lose. Although there were a few tears, the smiles far outweighed any sadness. As shown in the awards ceremony, the most important ribbon conferred was a green one given to each student – celebrating their participation in this great day!
A DVD of Field Day will be available shortly on this website – you may also call our school office (310-594-1594) to obtain your personal copy.

All That Jazz!

IMG_6464 WebsiteIMG_6434 WebstieGreetings again! If you missed Friday evening’s Musical and Open House, you missed a straight-from-Broadway, all-jazz event! Our school is actually two schools – one for academics and the other for arts – and both branches were highlighted so beautifully this past Friday evening. The children outdid themselves in their musical performances, which is no surprise, and the visual and performing arts faculty also outdid themselves. Bouquets of gratitude to our fabulous teachers, Deb Wilcox, Danielle Standart, and Charlie Miller, for a job so well done.

We were also delighted to see so many bouncy parents in the audience, tapping their toes and clapping their hands to the performances’ jazz music. Of course all of this was enhanced by the stage set donated by the generous Waldman family. As always, I thank you for your support and your smiles.

PS – We also extend our appreciation to Mrs. Macdonald and Mrs. Mearns who once again organized and served such a delicious dinner buffet for all of us!

Community Outreach

IMG_5960 Website SmallAs part of our School’s community outreach this year, we are striving to provide support for the homeless at the Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles. The art of giving Is part of Peninsula Heritage’s character building efforts, and we are focusing on the quality of Caring as we reach out to help care for the less fortunate in our metropolitan community. Our efforts here at PHS have been orchestrated by our very own Bradley family.

This Friday will be the last opportunity for our school community to participate during this academic year.  Food (meat and produce), bottled water, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and retail gift cards may be brought to school at any time on June 3rd, or when parents and students join us for Friday evening’s Musical and Open House starting at 6:00 pm.

I thank you in advance for helping others and, as adults, being role models for our children in how to make the world a better place. See you all on Friday!
