I was born in Ohio, and moved to California when I was a year old. I graduated from West High School, and continued my education at Long Beach State University where I received my BA in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Natural Science. I then continued on to graduate school where I completed my Multiple Subject Credential/Masters in Education at National University.

I began working with children when I was in high school as an assistant at a pre-school in Torrance. When I entered college, I began to tutor students from grades K-5, as well as working at Town and Country Nursery School. It was such a wonderful experience for me that I then decided to pursue a full time teaching position during the day, while getting my Credential at night. I was then offered a job at a Montessori School in Rancho Palos Verdes, where I taught Kindergarten for a year. I then came across a wonderful opportunity to teach Kindergarten here at P.H.S. This is my eleventh year as the Kindergarten teacher, and I feel absolutely blessed to be here!

The most important lesson that I learned during my teaching experience is that each child is unique in their background, experiences, and beliefs. To touch the hearts and minds of children in a way that will affect every decision they will ever make, is such a rewarding responsibility, as well as a privilege.
